HI 436 Contemporary European History This course entails a study of European politics, society, culture, and religion during the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Specific emphasis will be placed on the two world wars, the collapse of European colonial empires, the rise and fall of the Soviet Union, the formation of the European Union, and the changing composition of contemporary Europe’s population. Prerequisite: junior or senior standing or permission of instructor. 3 hrs
