NU 340 Mental Health Nursing Care

This course integrates the principles and concepts of mental health, psychopathology, and treatment modalities as related to providing nursing care to patients and their families suffering from mental illnesses. Emphasis is placed on current research and cultural, ethical, and legal issues related to the individual, family, and community. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe client care to individuals in a variety of acute care and community settings. 3 hrs
