RN to BSN

The faculty of the Division of Nursing (DON) believe that adult learners, such as RNs returning to complete the BSN degree, are self-directed and desire to learn in a mutually respectful, collaborative environment. The program was developed in an online format to help busy registered nurses complete the BSN degree. Graduates of the RN - BSN program will have achieved the same program objectives for the pre-licensure BSN degree. As an undergraduate baccalaureate nursing program, the RN - BSN program objectives are the same as the pre-licensure BSN program. The RN - BSN program shares the mission and is, therefore, consistent with the mission of Louisiana College.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Graduation from a nationally accredited associate degree or diploma nursing program.
  2. Unencumbered licensure(s) as a registered nurse with no pending legal action in any state of licensure.
  3. Admission in good standing into Louisiana College.
  4. Application and acceptance into the Division of Nursing.
  5. Cumulative grade point average of 2.6 on all courses taken toward meeting the nursing degree requirements.
  6. A grade of “C” or better is required in each prerequisite course. A “C” average is required on all central curriculum courses with no failures.
  7. Only 63 hours from a two-year institution can be counted toward the remaining coursework required for the BSN degree.
  8. Of the last 36 hours, 30 hours must be completed at Louisiana College
