SW 631 - Addiction and Substance Abuse Treatment This course is designed for advanced practice students completing field experiences in a variety of locations, including schools, community agencies, advocacy agencies, and hospitals. Topics covered include the classification of drugs and their effects on users; process addictions; various models of addiction; the use of assesment, diagnosis, and prevention strategies with individuals, families, groups and communities; relapse prevention; and legal, ethical, and multicultural issues associated with addictions work. 3 hrs
