NU 210 Concepts of Nursing

Introduction to concepts of nursing along the wellness/illness continuum, with an emphasis on building a foundation for Christian nursing. The Division of Nursing’s conceptual framework, major concepts, and theoretical underpinning are presented. Prerequisites: This course is usually required before admission to upper division nursing. Evidence of GPA at or approaching 2.6, and written plan to meet all pre-requisite course requirements in the timeline accorded for admission is essential. NU 210 must be completed within 12 calendar months of commencing upper division nursing courses, or it will need to be repeated. Completion of NU 210 does not guarantee admission into upper division nursing. An 8 hour clinical component with a skills competency assessment is a part of the course requirements. Prerequisite: all level one and two credits apart from the spring semester load and any six (6) credits remaining for summer study. ABSN co-requisites as specified in the course route. 3 hrs
